Mid-Canterbury is one of the most surprising regions in New Zealand. Perhaps best known for its agriculture, the region also provides visitors and residents alike with a vast range of activities.
While visiting our region you can be skiing or snowboarding, mountain biking, white water rafting, skydiving, jet boating, enjoying a country golf course, visiting gardens of blazing blooms, uncovering relics of aviation and transport history, or hiking nature trails.
Further afield there are the mountains to be explored by foot, bike, car, or aircraft and perfect for recreational hunting.
A cluster of high country lakes and braided rivers are fantastic for fishing. A hot air balloon or heli flight will provide you with a bird’s eye view of the patchwork landscape and a 4WD adventure will take you on a journey into the high country wilderness.
